Yoga Guru Sri. S. Sudhesh
Chandra

Yoga Guru Sri S. Sudhesh Chandra,
Founder, Director and Teacher
Sudhesh Chandra is a forty
six year old, mostly self taught teacher and teaches B.K.S. Iyengar’s style of yoga. Having been guided by one of his uncle in his early 20’s when he was suffering from acute back-pain and gradually got more interest in reading and practicing yoga for some years and started teaching yoga in the year 1990. His teaching is of course from the basics, so those who are really in search of a beginning in yoga practice are really lucky to have classes with sudhesh. He also
teaches Pranayama.
Sudhesh has written a book on Yoga titled "Jeevanada Jyothi Yoga"
in kannada means "Yoga is the light to life"& it is published on 1st June 2006.It is a very simple & informative for a very beginner to a very advanced practitioner of Yoga. For it's detailed narration & for it's simple language where in anybody can understand it very easily, the book is being appreciated by few writers also. And for his simple & more easy method but more effective teaching,Sudhesh is being called as
"Yoga Guru" by Mr.Rajashekara Koti, the editor of 'Andolana' a leading Kannada daily morning newspaper circulated in Mysore & other districts of Karnataka.

The method of teaching is of B.K.S Iyengar’s technique and he is full versed with the perfection of the asana. One more advantage in this centre is that Sudhesh teaches yoga in a good English wherein it is an added advantage for the overseas students to learn very fast instead of being adjusted externally wherein the physical meditation is always being disturbed as and when there is an adjustment in each and every asana. He is a strong believer in mind, breathe, body and soul. His speciality is that now and then in between the practice he will be giving tips how to concentrate and how to move the body accordingly to the postures or to perform asanas very easily and efficiently. As mentioned in the yoga’s sutras “Sthiram Sukham asanam" is the yoga practice and Sudhesh Chand is a strong believer in “sthiram sukham asanam”, as mentioned earlier always says to be comfortable, to be stable and to enjoy the practice at the end of each and every asana. His telling is that , if one is only coming to practice asana then he is lost somewhere deep in his yoga world because first and the foremost aspect of yoga practice is to see that you will enjoy the practice and keep your mind free from all sorts of stress and live happily till the end. As in his case he teaches the students how to keep the mind focussed at the time of practice and how to get into the stages or petals of ashtanga yoga starting from yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharna, dhyana and samadhi.
Sudhesh has come across the overseas students telling about (almost each and everyone) fear that they get hurt while practicing it. But Sudhesh in his centre make a very simple programme for their requirement and according to their respective ages. So senior citizens too can think about joining yoga classes in this centre.
He has been teaching yoga for the past 16 years, at first in Sri Raghavendra Yoga Kendra, which was started and run by sudhesh and the localities situated in siddharthanagar, then he was the secretary of the yoga centre for one year then he shifted over to srirampura 9 years back. He conducted classes in yelawal for two months. He was giving private tuitions; he also gave classes in Teresian College for hostalites and the principal sister Annette for few months, 40 days in Dhwanyaloka for foreigners, finally before starting his own centre he was giving classes in cosmopolitan club for the club members for about two years.
He is also one among the leading PRANAYAMA teachers in Mysore.
So
far he has taught over 2000 to 2500 Indian students and
more than 200 to 250 foreign students.
